Chris and Angela and their two teens are new to Nanaimo in 2019. Starting in Alberta, they have ministered together for over 15 years and are passionate about seeing others inspired to a deeper relationship with Jesus. In their spare time they enjoy spending time with family and friends, and exploring beautiful Vancouver Island.
Thank you for stopping by to find out more about about us. We are passionate about making a difference and seeing people from all walks of life and backgrounds discover Jesus. With Jesus we can find healing from our yesterday and hope for tomorrow! Life is a journey of taking the next step to knowing God, finding freedom, discovering purpose, and making a difference.
In July 2019 beLoved City Church launched in the heart of Nanaimo. We see a church that is full of life, joy and celebration. It's about fresh starts.
We invite you to partner with us. We know we can't do it on our own. It takes a unified group of people working together to accomplish the vision and mission to reach our city. Do you have a pioneering spirit and are looking for a church to grow with? That's us!
At BeLoved we are passionate about creating opportunities for people to grow together in relationship with Jesus. The church mobilized, activated hope dealers of the good news of Jesus in our neighborhoods and our city. We believe it is the adventure of a lifetime. And what better place to do it than Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, BC.
To be a thriving church, making a difference to see lives, families, and our city transformed by Jesus.
Invite people to know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference.
How? By creating moments for people to take their next step in connecting to God and community. We invest our time, talent, and treasure to see God’s Kingdom advanced here on earth.
Why? Because life and death are real. Because God’s plan A, the local church mobilized, is the hope of the world. We are committed to sharing the gospel with others. We are called to grow.
Our Values describe and prescribe the culture we create at BeLoved City Church.
We love GOD, love PEOPLE, pursue EXCELLENCE, and choose JOY.
That the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative written Word of God.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
In the eternal existence of one true God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Ephesians 4:4-6 NKJV
In the Savior of men, the Lord Jesus Christ, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, very God and very man.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 ESV
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
1 Timothy 3:16 NKJV
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Colossians 2:8-10 NKJV
In the gifts of the Holy Spirit as enumerated in the book of Acts and the Epistles.
Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call."
Acts 2:38-39 NKJV
In the Baptism with the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to salvation with the scriptural evidence; namely, speaking in tongues.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Acts 1:8 ESV
In the Spirit-filled life. The Holy Spirit is the catalyst for sanctification and seeks to produce His fruit in the believer’s life as their minds are renewed and they are conformed to the image of Christ.
But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.
Galatians 5:22-23 TPT
In the creation, test, and fall of man, as recorded in Genesis; his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to divine righteousness.
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:56-58 ESV
That forgiveness of sin and eternal life is freely offered to all by our Lord Jesus Christ. The Salvation of sinners is by grace through faith alone, in the perfect all sufficient work of Christ, who died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day for our justification.
Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved
Acts 16:31 ESV

Galatians 2:20 ESV
In Divine Healing as practiced throughout the New Testament.
And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.
Mark 16-17-18 ESV
In the universal church, the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. Members of the church are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose for the church is to bring glory to God in love, obedience, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus with others.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 ESV
In Water Baptism of believers by immersion in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
Colossians 2:12 NKJV
In the Lord’s Table as a memorial for believers.
They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity.
Acts 2:46 NLT
In the sanctity of marriage, as a life long exclusive commitment between one man and one woman.
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.
Mark 10:7-9 ESV
In the eternal life of the believer and the eternal punishment of the unbeliever.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 ESV
In the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church.
Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
John 14:1-4 ESV
