We love to do life together. We believe the church is God's plan A, there is no plan B. We are passionate about making a difference and seeing people from all walks of life and backgrounds discover Jesus. With Jesus we can find healing from our yesterday and hope for tomorrow!
Thank you for stopping by to learn more about our church. We invite you to come grow with us.
The body of Christ, the local church is the hope of the world, and we know we can accomplish more together than apart.
BeLoved City Church is associated with ACOP and is an ARC Canada partner.
Chris and Angela and their two teens are new to Nanaimo in 2019. Starting in Alberta, they have ministered together for over 15 years and are passionate about seeing others inspired to a deeper relationship with Jesus. They spend their spare time with family and friends, and exploring beautiful Vancouver Island.
We see a thriving and life-giving church, making a difference to see lives, families, and our city transformed by Jesus. A place where churched and unchurched people love to attend.
We see the next generation. We are willing to set aside preferences so they too can experience Jesus and fall in love with His church.
We exist to lead people to know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”
Values guide our BeLoved culture and give meaning to our mission.
We love JESUS
We are centered around the truth of the Gospel, and committed to growing in relationship with Jesus, learning His ways.
We love PEOPLE
We love you! We aim to be a church for people to belong before they belive. Following Jesus is a lifelong journey of growing in freedom and maturity.
We pursue EXCELLENCE
Creation and everything around us reveals God’s extravagant heart of excellence. We choose to honour God by doing our best in everything we do. Excellence is characterized by desire to use our gifts in a way that brings glory to God.
We choose JOY
Joy is more than happiness. Joy is the fruit of the Spirit of Christ in us. The joy of the Lord is our strength and is where we find true contentment. A joyful heart shapes our attitude and how we treat one another.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God as men were moved by the Spirit of God to give account and write the words of Scripture. We believe the Bible is without error.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
The word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 NIV
The eternal existence of one true God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Ephesians 4:4-6 NKJV
The Savior of men, the Lord Jesus Christ, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, very God and very man.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 ESV
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
1 Timothy 3:16 NKJV
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Colossians 2:8-10 NKJV
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of Christ dwelling in every believer, gives us assures us of salvation, guides us into all truth, convicts of sin, and comforts us.

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call."
Acts 2:38-39 NKJV
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Acts 1:8 ESV
But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.
Galatians 5:22-23 TPT
All people are created in the image of God, designed to have relationship with Him, but became separated from Him through sinful disobedience. Jesus provides the way to regain that right relationship with God.
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:56-58 ESV
Forgiveness of sin and eternal life is freely offered to all by our Lord Jesus Christ. God freely gives salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved

Mark 16-17-18 ESV
The Church is the bride of Christ, an active body of Jesus followers bringing glory to God in love, obedience and sharing the Gospel of Jesus.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 ESV
We uphold God's plan for sexual intimacy within the covenant of marriage, as a life long exclusive commitment between one man and one woman. Sexuality is our experience as a male or female, and a design of God's creation of humanity. Our primary identity is found in relationship with Jesus as a necessity for human wholeness.
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
We partake in the Lord’s Table as a memorial for believers.
They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity.
Acts 2:46 NLT
Water Baptism is an action of obedience, declaring publicly our new life in Christ. At BeLoved we baptize by immersion in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
Colossians 2:12 NKJV
Our eternal destination of either heaven or hell is determined by our response to Jesus.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 ESV
Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
John 14:1-4 ESV
